How Email Validation Differs From Deliverability Testing

Validation checks address quality. Deliverability testing looks at inbox placement and sending setup. They solve different problems.

Email validation and deliverability testing are related, but they are not the same job.

What validation does

Validation focuses on the address itself. It helps answer questions like:

  • Is the email formatted correctly?
  • Does the domain appear able to receive mail?
  • Is the address tied to a temporary or suspicious pattern?
  • Does the address look risky because of a typo or similar issue?
